Maria Balabas

Maria Balabaş is a radio producer working for The Romanian Cultural Radio. Since 2008 she produces and moderates one of the most popular shows on the radio, The Crossover Morning. She also created projects dedicated to new forms of radio expression and is the organizer of the Art’s Birthday event for Romania. She was nominated for Prix Europe (2013), Prix Italia (2018) and Grand Prix Nova (2018) and received the Semi Silent award (2018) for sonic innovation. Maria Balabaş develops also an artistic career focused on working with field recordings, sonic archives and other forms of audio memory.
