Tuomas Kerkkänen is a producer at the Finnish Broadcasting Company, Yle.
Since 2017, he has worked as team leader of the Current Affairs and Features unit, which produces in-depth investigative journalism for the Yle website and Yle’s Current Affairs flagship programme, A-Studio.
In autumn 2018, his team worked with data analysts attempting to uncover disinformation on social media surrounding the 2019 European elections.
Previously he has worked as an investigative journalist for Yle. In 2016 his investigations revealed that the Russian state-sponsored hacking group Turla was responsible for a sophisticated cyber-espionage campaign against Finland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kerkkänen has also investigated the international arms trade, cybercrime, and public spending.
